English

We read a beautiful story called 'Chasing Rainbows' which is about finding the good in different situations. We had a colour hunt in the classroom and wrote sentences about which colours we could see, we wrote about what we do in the rain and in Autumn, then we made kindness rainbows which were decorated with kind words.

See our kindness rainbows here.

Phonics

Some of us have learnt phase 5 ir in girl and ue in blue.

Some of us have been comparing phase 3 and phase 5 sounds: ai and ay, then ee and ea.

Some of us have been recapping phase 2 sounds.

We have been identifying teen numbers and saying how many tens and ones are in each one.

R.E.

We wrote a Creation poem about God's wonderful world.

In Prayer and Liturgy we focused on Autumn and our Harvest celebration.

P.S.H.E.

We talked about how happy breathing helps when we are struggling.

Forest School

We started our session with a game of 'Duck, duck, goose'.

We then went into our nature area and had a go at making shelters. We had a go at two ways, leaning branches against trees or tying a rope between trees. There was a lot of determination, problem-solving and imagination on display. The shelters were ready just before Storm Amy hit!
