We continued to learn about Edgar the dragon. This week, we pretended that Edgar had come into our school and caused chaos in the classrooms! We gathered ideas together, planned our story, and wrote a newspaper article describing what Edgar had been up to!
Maths
We tackled some tricky subtraction problem questions. We learnt to read the question and identify the important numbers in each part. We then used manipulatives and part-whole models to find the answers.
R.E.
We read Luke 4:16-22, which describes how Jesus announced His mission. We identified how we can help others, just like Jesus, and made some beautiful Candlemas art.
P.E.
This week, we used a bear walk and crab walk to travel around the room. We performed a 'rock and roll' on the mat, and a star jump off the bench onto a mat.
P.S.H.E
We talked about how to live a healthy lifestyle.
Art
We made a prototype of our medal to see which materials we would like to use next week.
Computing
We continued learning to type on a keyboard. This week, we utilised all the previously taught skills and changed our typing using the toolbar. We changed the font, colour and size of the text.
Science
We identified the properties of materials using adjectives.
Forest School
We listened to a story called Bear's Winter Home. We discussed changes in the weather and the seasons.
We worked in teams to build an animal home. We used sticls, leaves and moss. We showed great teamwork and there were some great discussions about what might work.
