English
This week we started our first Christmas story! We read 'The Robin Who Stole Christmas'. We described the robin using adjectives, described Santa HQ, made a wanted poster for the robin and wrote questions to the robin using question marks.
Phonics
We all have been practising reading and writing the common exception words for Year 1. Keep practising these at home!
Maths
We recapped the place value of numbers to 20.
We also completed another arithmetic together, talking about how we make a number sentence (three numbers and two symbols).
R.E.
We learnt about the word 'Advent' and made our own Advent promises. We also ordered the Nativity story.
In our 'Celebration of the Word' we delved deeper into Advent. We talked about patience and how we light the candles on the Advent wreath.
History
We wrote about the toys that we used to play with as a baby. We talked about the materials that they were made from.
Thank you for all of your parent sheets about your favourite toys as a child. We will be discussing this in the next few weeks.

We wrote the insert for our Christmas card.

We made Kandinsky circles on Paintz.app
