Home Practice

Your child's Sumdog log in should now be in the front of their brown reading record book. Please try and log in this week.

Maths challange - Counting objects (larger numbers)

Phonics challenge - Reception revision 2

Counting - Please practise counting different objects around your house. Or even try to go for a walk and count how many leaves you can find!

Reading - Please try and read at least three times a week.

Please remember to bring book bags each day.

English

We read the story 'Dogger' and we all felt really sorry for Dave who had lost his toy dog. We identified the characters, described Dogger using adjectives and sequenced the story.

Phonics

Some of us have started phase 5 and learnt the ay, ea, ie and oy sounds.

Some of us have been recapping phase 3 sounds, including ch and sh.

Some of us have been recapping phase 2 sounds.

Maths

We have been learning how to partition numbers into tens and ones using base ten, both visually and practically. We have been focusing on numbers to 20.

R.E.

We read the beginning of the Nicene Creed and talked about how God made things that are visible and invisible.

In Prayer and Liturgy we spoke about the importance of the words in the Lord's Prayer. We also focused on being calm and compared this to Jesus calming the storm.

Geography

Some of us went on a walk around our school grounds to spot different features. We will continue this next week.

Computing

We learnt how to log onto Sumdog using the QR code on our log in sheet. We all had a go at the Maths challenges and played the different games.

Art

We made pastel spirals on black paper so that the colour could stand out.

P.E.

We have learnt how to throw underarm with a beanbag and a ball.
