Home Practice

Sumdog log ins will be sent home next week! We will go through logging in with the class in Computing.

Counting - Please practise counting from 0 to 10. Can you count backwards too?

Reading - Please try and read at least three times a week.

Please remember to bring book bags each day.

English

We read 'Five Minutes Peace' by Jill Murphy. We identified the main characters in the story, sequenced the events and wrote simple sentences about the story.

Phonics

We started our phonics groups this week! We have been so impressed!

See our pictures here.

Maths

We started our Place Value unit. This week's focus has been counting objects and writing the corresponding number.

We have been playing a lot of Topmarks counting games in class. If you would like to play these at home, here is the website link: https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/5-7-years/counting

R.E.

We re-read the Creation Story and sequenced the events together.

In Prayer and Liturgy we focused on being kind, both to God's wonderful world and the people around us.

Geography

We sorted urban and rural places.

P.S.H.E.

We talked about how our brains change when we practise a skill. We drew a picture of a time we learnt a new skill.

Computing

We learnt about the different parts of a computer and a laptop - the screen, keyboard, mouse and trackpad. We then had a go at using a website that we will use in future computing lessons - paintz.app.

See our pictures here.

Art

We made our own spirals on big pieces of paper. We focused on different sizes and using different medium. Then we went outside and drew spirals with chalk.

See our pictures here.

Forest School

What a lot of great child initated learning. We collected apples, used leaf cutters to make shapes, climbed trees, balanced on the tyres and watched how water travelled down the hill. Some of the boys decorated  an old Christmas tree. Lovely imagination, problem solving, friendship and teamwork was on display.
