Maths - Arrays

Phonics - Sounds learnt this week.

Counting - Make an array and count each row/column in twos, fives or tens.

Reading - Please try to read each night, it makes a big difference!

Please remember to bring book bags in each day.

English

We read our new story this week: Someone swallowed Stanley. We made a wanted poster for Stanley and wrote sentences explaining how to look after our environment.

We also wrote a recount about our trip to Martin Mere.

Phonics

Some of us have compared the different aw spellings - aw in saw and au in haunt.

Some of us have been learning the different u spellings: u in umbrella and oo in shook.

Maths

We continued to make arrays to help us solve multiplication problem questions. We are so quick at making them now! We also learnt the difference between a row and a column.

R.E.

We discovered that different countries celebrate Pentecost in different ways. We focused on England, Italy, France, Ukraine and Vanuatu, and wrote Pentecost party invitations.

Computing

We learnt how to create instructions using positional language such as forwards, backwards, left and right. We used these to create simple code to help Scrat reach his acorn.

PSHE

We discussed how we can relate to each other and how sometimes it can be quite tricky to get along with everyone. We learnt a friendship song and identified ways to relate to people who are different to us.

Art

We made feathers using the materials available in the classroom. We used our art skills of ripping, tearing, cutting and gluing.

Martin Mere

We used our scientific knowledge to investigate plants and compare mammals. We also had fun playing on the playground.

A big thank you to everyone who came to watch our sports day! We appreciate your support and we are so proud of each child!
