English
We read 'Maya's walk' which is about a little girl who spots different objects whilst on her walk. We focused on adjectives this week, which help to improve our writing. Maya used fabulous adjectives in the story.
We spotted adjectives, wrote our own adjectives and then wrote an adjective poem about flowers.
Phonics
Some of us have learnt phase 5 ue in statue (you sound), aw in paw and wh in when.
Some of us have been comparing phase 3 and phase 5 sounds.
Some of us have been recapping phase 2 sounds.
Maths
We have focused on recognising numbers between 20 and 30. We made sure to say that the numbers have two tens, rather than one ten.
We also completed our first arithmetic together!
R.E.
We spotted key words which describe God. We talked about Him being kind, powerful and invisible.
In Prayer and Liturgy we focused on being resilient and not giving up. We also talked about loving one another, as Jesus taught us.
P.S.H.E.
We learnt how to help our Team H-A-P when they aren't working properly and how happy breathing calms our brain.
Computing
We continued to learn how to use a keyboard. We typed our own name.
Art
We sketched shells as we found out that some shells have a spiral pattern!
Science
We identified which body parts are responsible for our senses.
We also went on a senses walk around school, identifying what we could see, smell, hear and feel.
P.E.
We put our throwing skills into action by playing games of dodgeball in the hall.
