Welcome to Reception
Autumn 1
Topic – Ourselves
Mrs Cliffe and Myself would like to say a huge 'Well Done' to all of Reception for completing their first half term in school. Every single child has made a fabulous start to their school journey. We are so proud of you all and parents for supporting them every step of the way.
We can not wait for more fun in the next half term :)

This week we read the story ‘The Leaf Thief’
We then discussed being a squirrel running through the woods and coming across a magical tree.
We all had lots of great ideas of what would happen to our trees when the wind blows.

And we have discussed the things we need to do to keep our world a lovely place to be.

Understanding the World
We have revisited our Senses this week.
This week we focused on hearing – we had to listen to different sounds and guess what they could be.
We have also been looking at the body again this week.
We read the story funny bones and talked about our bodies having lots of different bones.
We looked at a skeleton and had a go at creating our own using art straws.
