Welcome to Reception's Friday Blog!

Happy New Year to you all. It has been lovely to have the children back in school,

telling us all about their Christmas break!

Maths

This week we have been exploring the number 10.

RE

The week we have been listening to scripture about the 3 kings visiting Jesus and celebrating Jesus’ birth.

We talked about how we show love to one another, just like Jesus.

We also looked at our topic for Journey in Love.

This half term it is all about ourselves.

We did a circle time and talked about how we are special and who makes us happy.

Expressive Art and Design

This week we have been doing lots of crafts.

We have made new year wishing wands and arctic penguins.

My Happy Mind

This week we have started our new topic of Appreciate.

We have been talking about the meaning of the word Gratitude.

We have discussed ways to show thankfulness, including; saying thank you, smiling, a hug and a high five.

Understanding the World

We have been on a winter walk looking for signs of winter.

We collected a huge piece of ice and brought it into class. We watched it for 2 days as it melted and talked about what changes we saw.

We have also started our new topic of People who help us. We have been discussing lots of different roles.
