Welcome to Reception’s Blog
Our topic this half term is Julia Donaldson.
This week we are learning about space.
Drawing Club
We continued to read 'The Smeds and The Smoos' - this week we focused on designing a planet for Bill and Janet to escape to.
We tried really hard to use our finger spaces in our sentences this week.

Maths
We continued our learning about teen numbers.
We discovered what a teen number might look like with objects and then built it using cubes.
Understanding the World
This week we have been learning about Rockets. We read the story ‘Whatever Next’ – we discussed how baby bear made his own rocket using cardboard with his space boots and helmet.

In history, we continued learning about the 'The Royal Family'
This week we focused on the King’s life, what he wears, his job role and important duties he may have.

EAD
This week in Art we painted our imaginary landscapes using a paint and glue mixture.
See gallery below
We also made our own space biscuits using icing and mixing different colours together.
PE
We continued to develop our fundamental skills.
We also practised some races for sports day. This week we did the egg and spoon race and the sack race.
RE
This week we learnt all about Pentecost.
We watched a video and then discussed how 'The Holy Spirit' came to the disciples - it looked like flames and sounded like the wind.
We then made our own flame headbands.
