Welcome to Reception's Friday Blog!
What a great first week back we have had!
Phonics
This week we have been learning the new sounds; ck, e and u. We have been talking about words with them in, for example sock, egg and umbrella.
Drawing Club
In Drawing Club, we have been listening to the story; ‘What’s in the Witch's Kitchen?’
We have been drawing our own witch and thinking of things which could be in her kitchen.
Maths
This week we have been exploring the number 5.
RE
This week we have been recapping the Bible and what it is for.
Then we began to talk about mothers and how important they are.
Understanding the World
This week we have been understanding the meaning of Remembrance Day.
We have made our own poppy, to show a symbol of peace.
Expressive Art and Design
This week we have been making our own firework pictures.
PE
We have been practising skipping and making our own dances to the music of Toy Story.
Outdoor Learning Day
This week we had an outdoor learning day and planted poppy seeds.
We can't wait to watch them grow!
