Welcome to Reception's Friday Blog!

Welcome back to our last half term in Reception.

We have loved coming back to school this week and starting a our new topic - animals.

Phonics

 Mrs Robinson's group have been revisiting the ar and or sounds.

Mrs Dixon's group have been revising our tricky words.

Drawing Club

In Drawing Club, we have been reading the story, Tiddler.

We have been designing our own fish to join Tiddler’s class and drawing him exploring the ocean.

Maths

We have been exploring money and different coins this week.

RE

We have been learning about looking after our wonderful world and everything in it.

As a class, we made pledges about how we would protect our world. 

We wrote them on ribbon and attatched them to a tree in our school grounds.

Expressive Art and Design

 We have been drawing self portraits this week.

Understanding the World

This week we have been discussing what maps are and how we can use them.

We made a map of our classroom.

We have also had a careers fair in school. We loved visiting the different adults and talking to them about their jobs. See the photos here.

PE

This week we took part in our whole school event of tough kidder, with every child completing the course! See the photos here.

We have also done some cosmic kids yoga.
