Welcome to Reception’s Blog
Drawing Club
We read ‘Commotion In The Ocean’ by Giles Andreae and wrote our own descriptions of an animal from the story.
RE
We listened to the story of St Peter and St Paul and heard that they followed Jesus with courage and faith. We discussed people who do extraordinary things – who demonstrate they follow Jesus by the amazing things they do.

Maths
We explored both 2D and 3D shapes – we created pictures using the common shapes we already know. We discovered which shapes are best for building structures and why.

Understanding the World – Science
Wed investigated, through practical experimentation, which objects would sink or float. We discovered that just because an item is small does not necessarily mean that it will float. We concluded that how heavy or light an object was, and if it contained a lot of air, made a difference to the result of our experiments.
Expressive Art and Design
In Art we drew self-portraits. We used mirrors and pens to create our portraits.

In PE we had our first experience of Tough Kidder - we had great fun, but we did all get very wet!!!
PSHE
During our PSHE session, we discussed the importance of making sure we keep our teeth clean. We talked about why it is necessary to keep our teeth healthy and who can help us keep our teeth in good condition. We also discussed which foods and drinks are good for our teeth.
