Autumn 1

Topic – Ourselves

PSED

This week we have been sharing our favourite things with are friends, noticing how everyone likes different things and that is okay.

We shared the story “Our Class Family”

We thought about being a family at school.

“We are all different, we all belong, and we look after one another.”

We created a list of lovely things that we can do to make sure we look after our class family.

We continued to learn the story about God creating the world.

Light, sky, earth, sea and land, the sun and moon, animals and humans.

We looked at ourselves in the mirror and talked about how we are Gods greatest creation.

Shared Reading

Our traditional tale story is ‘The Three Little Pigs’

We discussed the different characters in the story and the setting.

We listened to the story and joined in the repeated phrases.

Art

We explore mixing the primary colours, we painted our hands two different primary colours and mixed them together to see what new colour we could make.

We learnt the new colours we made are the secondary colours.

Understanding the World

We began to learn about the season on Autumn.

We explored our autumn treasure tray of what the children found on their own autumn walks.

We then decided to be leaf detectives and see what different leaves we could find in our outdoor areas. We used them to create leaf rubbing pictures using the autumn colours.
