Reception Blog - Friday 26th September 2025
Date: 26th Sep 2025 @ 3:31pm
Welcome to Reception's Friday Blog!
Phonics
This week we started our phonics. We started with the sounds s, a and t.
We have been recognising them, writing them and singing songs about them.
Drawing Club
In Drawing Club, we listened to different versions of the Three Little Pigs.
We then drew our own pigs and designed our own houses.
We have also been retelling the story using pig masks that we made ourselves.
Maths
We have been singing lots of songs and doing lots of counting to 5.
RE
We recapped our learning about the Bible.
Then we listened to the creation story and talked about our favourite things that God has created.
Fine Motor Skills
This half term we are focussing on our fine motor skills – with the pen and dough disco!
Understanding the World and Expressive Art and Design
We continued to learn about Autumn.
We went outside with our autumn treasures and created pictures.
PE
This week, we did more balancing and some dancing.
Forest School
We played a game in our log circle area and then went in our nature area. We spotted quite a few different types of mushrooms. We learnt about not touching them.
We were brilliant at sharing, taking turns, being resilient and imaginative. There was leaf soup, apple ice cream and cups of tea being made. Some of us climbed trees and we also invented our own games.
We went to our first Golden Assembly with the whole school.
We did the best sitting and showed everyone how amazing we are.
