Welcome to Reception

Autumn 1

Topic - Ourselves

We have continued our understanding of the world topic learning all about ourselves.

This week we have explored the body; we named all the different body parts and discussed what we need to keep our bodies healthy.

We all had a go at crafting our own person to make it look like themselves.

Drawing Club

We have continued to focus on our emotions this week.

We have been discussing the feelings of being jealous or worried. We spoke about what we could do if we were feeling like this to help us feel better.

We had a go at drawing our very own colour monster going to school, we thought about what he might do at school and how he might be feeling.

Art

We began our new topic of ‘Colour’

We spoke about the colours that we already knew and sang the rainbow song together.

Then we investigated mixing colours using skittles and water.

We created our own rainbows using our fine motor skills and dabbing inside the lines to create a rainbow pattern.

PE

This week we had a go at some of our fundamental skills, running with spatial awareness, throwing and catching, jumping and hopping.

Forest School

We had a super session exploring our Nature Area. We found snils and worms. There was also some imaginative mud cooking with apples.
