Welcome to Reception’s Blog

Our topic this half term is Julia Donaldson.

This week we are learning about space.

Drawing Club 

We continued to read 'The Smeds and The Smoos' - this week we wrote a missing Smed/Smoo poster for Janet and Bill.

We also wrote sentences about something special that happened at the party.

Maths

We have started our learning about money.

We investigated what coins looked like, explored the different shapes and how much the coins might represent.

Understanding the World

We continued our learning about space and rockets.

Our focus this week was ‘How do we get to space?’.

The children all made their own fantastic junk model rockets.

We continued to learn about the 'The Royal Family'

We focused on our current and past Queens.

Art

We used our painted sheets to create our imagination inspired landscapes.

PE

We developed  our fundamental skills. 

We are excited about our races for sports day next week. 

Forest School

We had a short session in the nature area. 

PSHE 

We had our Right Start Training again.

Our learning focused on Stop, Look and Listen. We all went out and watched the traffic that passed the school.

We thought about listening for loud/quiet vehicles and fast/slow they moved. We also discussed when it would be safe to cross over the road.
