Autumn 1

Topic - Ourselves

Drawing Club

This week we have started our new story - The Colour Monster

We have been learning about ours feelings.

We discovered a new word tihs week -  'Discombobulated' - see if your child can tell you what it means :)

We helped the colour monster to sort his feelings out and discussed what we can do if we are feeling sad or angry. 

Phonics

We will be starting phonics next week :)

Maths

We have been singing lots of nursery rhymes.

We used our fingers to help show the different amounts.

RE

This week the children learnt about what the Bible is.

We had a look at the different ones we have in class.

 PSHE

We have learnt about our brain this week. 

We know where it is in our bodies and how it helps us to do lots of different things. 

Art

We all had a go at painting a self portrait this week.

We used the mirror to select the correct colours for our face, hair, eyes and lips. 

PE

We continued to work on our listening skills in PE, playing games like musical bumps and statues. 

Forest School

Everyone was really excited at the first Forest School session. 

We had a look in the garden to see what was growing, we found tomatoes, courgettes, flowers, beans and peas. We saw a daddy long legs and lots of other creatures. We did some super mud cooking and digging. There was plenty of resilience on display when balancing and climbing trees.

Golden Assembly

We all got a special certificate this week for making an amazing start to our school year.
