Reception Blog - 4th September 2026

What a fabulous start to our school year.

Everyone has done really well coming into school in the mornings and settling in the classroom. 

We have been learning our rules and routines for the day and practising our listening skills this week. 

Our topic this half term is 'Ourselves'

The children have loved sharing their special  'All about me' books with their new friends. 

We have also had a go at drawing a self portrait and writing our own names.

Forest School

We will be starting Forest School next Thursday afternoon.

Please make sure your child has a pair of wellies in school :)

PE

PE is a Thursday morning.

All the children did amazingly this week, having a go at getting ready independently.

We also played some listening games, travelling around the space without bumping into each other. 

Our curriculum meeting will be on Monday 14th September 3.30-4pm 

This will inform you of all the learning the children will be doing over their first year at school.
