World War 1 Experience – Museum of Lancashire

We have had such a wonderful day in role play as new recruits for the British Army. Our day began at Fulwood barracks when we were greeted by our sergeants and given our instructions for the day. We experienced drill instructions and looked at the clothing that would have been worn by the soldiers. Both sergeants told fascinating and moving stories from the war helping us to get a clearer picture of what it was really like. We then swiftly moved onto the trench activities at the Museum of Lancashire and felt a little of the nervousness that the young soldiers would have experienced- the unknown. We  thoroughly enjoyed our day and were very proud of the comments that the public and the staff had to say about our wonderful class. A huge thank you to the staff for making the day so realistic!
