St Oswald’s Athletics Team had once again made it to the Lancashire Finals in Blackpool. They were up against 15 other top ranking schools in Lancashire. After a tough competition, the team ended up in 9th position. A huge achievement for everyone involved!
Year 5 and 6 Athletics Team were once again competing in the South Ribble finals against the top teams across Penwortham, Longton and Leyland. The Year 5 and 6 indoor athletics team took part in a competition at All Hallows High School. They were against 8 other primary schools and competed brilliantly. Everyone performed exceptionally as individuals and as a team. When the results came in, St Oswald’s won gold which put us through to the South Ribble Finals.
Last Saturday, St Oswald’s football team were invited to be mascots for Bamber Bridge Football Club. We are very lucky to have ‘Starlight Performing Arts Company’ running a weekly workshop for our pupils. The Starlight company run their workshops every FRIDAY in the Green Room from 3.15 -4.30pm. If your child is a keen performer this could be the club for them ! Contact school for more details.
Art Club runs on a Monday from 3.15-4.15pm. It is run by the artist, Rosemary Stansfield and offers the children an opportunity to learn many art techniques. The club is very popular and does have a waiting list ! Contact school for more details.
Both teams, coached by Mrs Cookson, have now been declared winners of their leagues. Well done to all of them for their teamwork, efforts and above all else, their fair play. A brilliant achievement!

At St. Oswald’s we love music and we have a choir of approximately 50 junior children.
